We welcome you at Nomads Hostel, Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria - the home of travelling people from all over the world
Our house is at the heart of the old town of Veliko Tarnovo - on the beautiful Gurko Street famous for its authentic 19th-century houses. Gurko Street was the main street of Veliko Tarnovo when the town was capital of Bulgaria, and is among the most significant sites in the country where the architectural style from the Bulgarian Renaissance has been preserved. Nomads Hostel itself is a memorial house dating back to the revival period in the Bulgarian history and has been renovated to meet the needs of contemporary life.
Here you can enjoy the panoramic view revealed from our balcony and savour the charm and quiet of the old times. Or you can walk around our beautiful town and explore its many gems, among which is 'Tsarevets' Fortress where Bulgarian rulers used to live. Just 5 minutes away is the city centre where you can dive into the wild nightlife of Veliko Tarnovo, which hosts one of the major universities in Bulgaria.
Veliko Tarnovo is the town that has best preserved the spirit of pre-commnist times in Bulgaria. It is a different world that boasts on rich cultural heritage and picturesque landscape and is a definite must-stop for everyone passing through these latitudes.
We know it is immodest to write about ourselves, so we will let the words of our guests speak for themselves. We are proud of these comments and we cherish the memory of these people who turned from guests to friends of ours /remember our slogan - "Come as a guest, leave as a friend"/. Of course, there is not enough space for all of them but here are some:

I`ve been travelling for about 2 months now through Eastern Europe and this is by far one of the best hostels I`ve been to. It`s all about the atmosphere. The staff treats you as a friend yet with all the hospitality a guest would receive. Last but not least, they`re amazing cooks. You must let them cook dinner for you.

the location, the jaw dropping views, the peacefulness and laidback attitude, the amazing friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness, the dinners that they can make for you, the hospitality.. He is very knowledgable about Bulgaria, the local area, and natural history. This is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. Although I thought their motto a little cheesy (come as a guest, leave as a friend), it is so true. We stayed longer than we thought we would because we felt so at home here! Thanks guys!!

A perfect place to stay. A lovely hostel where you're made to feel like you're at home. The view of the valley beneath you is stunning and George and Maria were just so nice and also took us out to a good bar to. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Great.

I had a lovely time staying at Nomad's Hostel. Fedio, Maria and Georgie made me feel very welcome, and the hostel itself is comfortable, in an excellent location in the old town and has a wonderful view. :)
